Tea

After water tea is the world's most popular drink. It is claimed to have been discovered by the Chinese Emperor Shen Nung in 2737BC, when a tea leaf accidentally fell into a bowl of hot water he was drinking.

Tea is a drink made by infusing the leaves of the tea plant (Camellia sinensis) in hot water.

Tea is grown in some of the world's most exotic places - from the hills of Sri Lanka and India to the mountains and valleys of Kenya.

The health benefits of drinking tea are becoming well known.

There are four basic types of tea - white, green, oolong, and black tea. There are also 'teas' made from other plants - rooibos and herbal teas.

In our cafe we serve some of the finest organic teas. We have a wonderful black tea that will remind you of the old days of steeped tea.

You can buy them as well - as a present for someone or simply a treat for yourself. We have loose teas and boxed tea's.
